KATE AMBROSE

Kate Ambrose is a local mixed media artist based in Teton County. Through extensive travel to Europe and to U.S. National and State Parks, she has developed her unique take on plein air painting: Meditative Landscapes. She works entirely outdoors, where she centers her focus around the process of creating art. Instead of worrying about the result, she clears her mind and practices self acceptance through meditative motions. She believes wild spaces offer fluidity, freedom, and color. She switches from fluid watercolor to stark waxy colored pencils to maintain movement, lightness, and playfulness. Her Meditative Plein Air Process alleviates habitual thinking and opens up creative play.
